SUZANNE MERNYK
Suzanne Mernyk is an actress, stand-up comic, playwright, producer, director and classical musician.
She has performed on stages in New York City, as well as regionally. Most recently, Suzanne performed in “ A Jar In The Forest” at The 2007 Annual Samuel French Short Play Festival and in “Sunshine Sally” at The Neighborhood Playhouse. Other recent performances include appearances in two of her own plays, “Trevor or Trent” & “An Old Wife Tale” at the 2006 Samuel French Short Play Festival , as well as portraying Karen Nash in Neil Simon’s, “Plaza Suite” for Curtain Call Theatre in Stamford, CT.
Film credits include “The Stepford Wives”, “Wall Street” and an independent feature, “Laundry”.
As a stand-up comic, Suzanne has performed at Caroline’s Comedy Club, Stand-Up New York, Gotham Comedy Club, The Duplex and many others.
Several of her short plays, including “Trevor or Trent”, “An Old Wife Tale”, “After Midnight”, and “J & H Body Beautiful”, have been voted finalist or semi-finalist at various play festivals in and around NYC, including The Strawberry One Act Festival, The Samuel French Short Play Competition (’05 & ’06), The Havemeyer Playwright Competition, and The CAC Short Play Competition.
Suzanne is currently a member of the Playwright’s Lab of the Workshop at The Neighborhood Playhouse, led by Mary H. Baldridge and has studied playwriting & sitcom writing at NYU.
